After battling for 3 days to upgrade from 2.0.5 i have finally managed to upgrade to 2.1. Turns out my original backup was corupt. I proceeded to download version 2.0.5, uploaded the contents and then upgraded to 2.1 from there. Doing it this way was no big deal and it didn’t affect my database. Just gonna play with the new features now, tata.

Upon installing wordpress I’ve found that it is a much more powerful tool than people may think. For one, a whole website can be created using wordpress which is fantastic. I only thought of wordpress as a blogging tool and that’s it – how wrong was I! But I think the biggest hurdle to someone that is introduced to wordpress is skinning it to one’s taste which I find particularly challenging. Nonetheless it shall be conquered and I will have a fully skinned blog to suit my needs.

i just found about the k2 and first impression are that it’s real cool! Currently my personal website consists of static xhtml pages but i can easily see them being replaced with the use of wordpress and the k2 theme. What impresses me is that it is very customisable from side panels to the header. I’m going to start playing with this now…
